VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN POLITICS

Violence Against women in Politics (VAWIP) was initiated by SAP-International with the support from Oxfam Novib, Netherlands in the year 2006, in the quest of finding answers to the questions raised along with the outcomes of the research study on Women’s Participation in Governance in South Asia carried out under its South Asia Regional People and Policy (SARPPP) in 2003.The research revealed that there is discrimination, exploitation, oppression and violence against women in politics.
